This is a province that has not one but TWO World Heritage Sites plus Big 5 game reserves, country meanders, Zulu homesteads and numerous botanical garden... need we say more? iSimangaliso Wetland Park - This World Heritage Site wilderness runs from Kosi Bay in the North (close to the Mozambique border) to Cape St Lucia in the South and is a biodiversity hotspot.

Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park - This World Heritage Site stretches over hundreds of kilometres of rugged mountains, waterfalls and streams. Here you’ll find spectacular views, great hiking trails and awe-inspiring rock art.

Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve covers over 96 000 hectares and is home to the Big 5 and incredible bird and plantlife life. The park is also world-famous for its conservation of rhino, and is one of the oldest wildlife preservation areas in the country.

The Midlands Situated in the heart of KwaZulu Natal, the Midlands Meander is home to fantastic country hotels, numerous award-winning eateries, studios, galleries and even it’s own brewery.

Sodwana Bay - It’s all pristine beaches and immaculate reefs renowned for spectacular scuba diving. They call Sodwana, South Africa’s answer to the Great Barrier Reef.

Oribi Gorge Adventure-lovers will thrill at this spectacular gorge created over millions of years as the Umzimkulwana river made its way through the earth. Here you’ll find a wealth of adventure activities and great bird life too.

Pietermaritzburg Botanical Gardens - The Pietermaritzburg Botanical Gardens are known for their natural and historical significance and are a major drawcard who visitors who enjoy getting up-close-and-personal with nature.
