Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism, which has been exhibiting at INDABA for over 20 years, is gearing up to take advantage of Africa’s biggest travel trade platform again in 2015.
INDABA provides the opportunity for exhibitors to get maximum exposure

“INDABA is one of three must attend tourism trade shows for us and the biggest in Africa,” says Doné Louw, Coordinator – Visit and Reservations, Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism.

The exposure to the African exhibitors and buyers interested in the continent is important for the Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism, the destination marketing association for Nelson Mandela Bay which includes Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage and Despatch.

Exceptional exposure to quality buyers and providing the optimal platform for exhibitors is one of the most important imperatives of INDABA. Many exhibitors such as Nelson Mandela Bay return to INDABA as exhibitors year after year to exploit the excellent business opportunities it offers.

“Africa as a whole is a new target market for us and it will be great to work with operators from the rest of Africa. INDABA also gives us the opportunity to engage with operators from outside Africa that traditionally have only dealt with other African countries too,” explains Louw. Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism is positive about INDABA 2015.

“There have been some very positive changes recently and we are very excited about this,” says Louw.

“Our hope for INDABA 2015 is to see more buyers interested in the Eastern Cape and especially Nelson Mandela Bay. Our aim is to engage with operators who bring business to the Eastern Cape and Garden Route and encourage them to stay in the city a little longer. The city has so much to offer – this is highlighted by the city card we have on offer called the Nelson Mandela Bay Pass, which enables us to showcase the affordability this city offers. Travellers are looking at destinations that offer value for money, great products and experiences.”

Events that Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism will be sure to attend are the Eastern Cape’s annual “Plathoender” event and the various workshops on offer, especially those relating to e-Tourism.
